Porto Carras Grand Resort is spread over 1 763 hectares of land and every corner of the property is used to accommodate features of the resort. The resort is situated on the Toroneos Gulf along 9km’s of beaches and is bordered by Mt. Meliton. The Proto Carras Marina offers mooring for over 300 boats which makes it the biggest marina in Northern Greece.
Construction on the resort began in 1973 by businessman and ship owner, Yiannis Carras who was the original creator of the Porto Carras Grand Resort. A number of hotels and villas as well as the casino, golf course and other amenities feature on the resort which is now owned by the Technical Olympic Group.

The Porto Carras Grand Resort casino provides more than 270 slot machines; eight live touch bet roulette games; five American roulette tables; seven blackjack tables and three Caribbean stud and Texas hold ‘em poker games. The Meliton is just one hotel located at the Porto Carras Grand Resort. This hotel is where the Thalassotherapy and Spa Centre is located. This spa offers a range of treatments and is a Conde Nast award winning spa. The spa also features an indoor ocean water pool; a high salinity pool; a thalassotherapy pool and six hydro baths. Apart from the Meliton hotel, there is another five star hotel called the Sithonia and then two bungalow styled hotel called Marina Village and Villa Gallini.
The property of the Porto Carras Grand Resort is home to 40 000 olive trees and has a variety of outdoor activities including football; tennis; basketball and golf areas. Other outdoor activities include bicycle riding; horse riding; fishing and various water sports.
The resort includes a variety of banqueting halls that are available for a variety of events. The Apollo theatre features live entertainment and a shopping centre features a variety of luxury boutiques.
Dining and Late Night Entertainment
A selection of restaurants are situated throughout the resort. Mediterraneo at Sithonia buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. The White Room is also at Sithonia and serves a full a la carte menu. Sithonia also has Pergola which is an al fresco self-service restaurant that opens daily for lunch. Sithonia bars include the Purple Bar; the Wet Bar and a nightclub which operates every evening.
The Meliton hotel at the Porto Carras Grand Resort also offers a variety of dining establishments. These include Pefko; Crystal’s; News Café and Athos. Bars at the Meliton include Reflections Lounge Bar; Wet Bar and Beach Bar.
